Iraqi Officials Say Disability Programs Improved Since
War
September 1, 2005
BAGHDAD, IRAQ--Government-run facilities
serving Iraqis with disabilities have gotten better in the past couple of
years, USA Today reported Thursday.
Officials of specialized schools and training centers were quoted as saying that new equipment, updated computer technology and improved training of teachers have helped such programs to better serve children and adults since the fall of Saddam Hussein.
This has led families to become more confident in the programs.
Officials noted that more people have needed help since the U.S.-led invasion, occupation and insurgency started 30 months ago.
