Why do you charge a subscription instead of getting advertising
or grants so you can offer the service for free?
We want to stand out as the most reliable, comprehensive resource for
up-to-date news and information on issues that are important to people who have
disabilities. To make this become a reality, we decided early on to make
Inclusion Daily Express a subscription service, for the following reasons.
- We are passionate, as are many of our readers, about the rights of
people to live in their own communities and to fully participate in the
decisions that effect their lives. We don't want to be indebted to and
influenced by advertisers and granters--who may have a more mainstream
position. Instead, we are directly indebted -- very indebted -- to our readers
for giving us the freedom to tell it like it is!
- This guarantees our readers will get the news every business day
not just when we have the time available or after we get information
sent from other people. We want subscribers to know they can count on us to be
here, every business day, for a long time to come.
- We have to work hard to give our readers the kind of information they
need in their advocacy efforts. In this way, our readers help us maintain the
quality of our service!
- Experience has taught us that people tend to give more attention to
the things they invest in than they do things they get for free.
- We want to keep this service simple and free of time-wasting
distractions. Commercial messages and flashy graphics are not only annoying,
they take extra time to download and clutter up email.
