Presidential Campaigners Strive To Get Voters To Polls
By Dave

ROCHESTER, NEW
HAMPSHIRE--Voting time.
It's one time of the year when politicians pay attention to folks that have disabilities.
In New Hampshire, U.S. presidential candidates and their supporters are working feverishly to make sure voters with disabilities get exactly what they need . . . what they need to get to the polls on Tuesday, that is.
According to Monday's Foster's Daily Democrat, campaigners from both parties have gone out of their way -- handing out snow shovels and buckets of de-icing salt for van drivers, and arranging for four-wheel drive vehicles -- to make sure all can get out and into their local primary polling places.
"You would hope that candidates would go the extra mile to get vans for people with disabilities because every vote does count in this election and in others," said New Hampshire Disability Rights Center Executive Director Richard Cohen.
By the way, snow and ice are not likely to be too much of a problem for people in the eastern New Hampshire city of Rochester: Tuesday's forecast is calling for partly sunny skies, with highs right around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
