"Beyond Limits" Awards Given To Service and Therapy
Animals
By Dave Reynolds, Inclusion Daily Express
June 6,
2002
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON--Who could resist stories about dogs and cats .
. . especially when the animals provide a valuable service for people with
disabilities?
Each year, the Delta Society presents what it calls the "Beyond Limits" awards to the best service pets and therapy animals over the previous years. Last month, awards were given at the Delta Society's 21st annual conference held in Seattle.
The Delta Society is an international resource that connects service and therapy animals with people. According to their Web site, the organization has "been the force to validate the important role of animals for people's health and well-being by promoting the results of research to the media and health and human services organizations."
Brief stories about this year's "Beyond Limits" award winners appeared
